VENUE: Cruachan Aí Heritage Centre, Tulsk, and adjacent archaeological excavation site
Event: The public is invited to see the progress of the Discovery Programme’s archaeological excavation on the earthwork mound in Tulsk village. The site is the former residence of the O’Conor Roe lords during the later medieval period from 1385AD, and it was refortified during the Elizabethan period in the 1590s, as part of the larger garrisoning of Tulsk by Sir Richard Bingham, the Queen’s governor in Connacht. |
